Overview: We’re a 60’s something couple finally able to travel after retirement. This was our first cruise since COVID and the first “off peak” cruise that we have taken. We were on Royal’s Adventure of the Seas sailing from Galveston to Costa Maya and Cozumel 2/9- 2/14/2022. The ship was only at about 40% capacity, which made for a lot more room and opportunity to enjoy it all. In short, we had a great time at an OUTSTANDING price.

The COVID precautions were a bit of a bother, but not enough to detract from the trip. We felt that the staff attentiveness and food was much better than our recent pre-cruise experiences. Read-on for the details…..

Booking: We booked directly on the Royal site. We normally take a 7 day balcony, during a busier time of the year and pay about $1000 each. This 5 day cruise was far, far less that half that price! I don’t see how they can do it. You couldn’t get 5 nights at a Holiday Inn Express for what we paid, let alone the travel, meals, and entertainment.
