After 3 other vacations being cancelled due to covid restrictions/mandates...we got on a cruise for some unwinding and relaxation. The CDC warned the public about the dangers of taking a cruise, but we simply said 'enough'! We got the required vaccine to travel...no booster. Negative covid test as is required, and we were finally on a trip. Princess makes you mask while inside, but eating and drinking anywhere it comes off...and no masks up on deck. I would prefer no masks at all, but for the sake of a vacation we could endure this for a little while longer. Should be gone soon enough.

Our cruise was awesome. A ship capacity of 3600 with only 950 passengers. We felt we had the ship to ourselves! No waiting in lines...no trouble finding primo spots at the pool...a service crew who was at your beckoned call all the time it seemed. Loved it! Wish this was the business model for all future cruises to be 50% capacity or less. Service was the best...food was great...destinations were okay but didn't really care where it was. Absolutely love Princess and the Regal was a very nice ship. For the covid paranoid, they are constantly cleaning surfaces and have several sanitizer dispensing stations throughout the ship. Several times we would forget to put on our masks as we left our cabin and then suddenly remember: 'oh shoot, we need to mask up.' But it was more refreshing not to be abrasively reminded to put on a mask or pull up over your nose by any Princess crew member...as happens on airplanes these days! Met several passengers who were just as fed up with covid and simply were enjoying life again with a relaxing cruise!

Highly recommend the Regal and Princess Cruiseline! We loved our cruise so much, we immediately booked another one in late summer. Hopeful the masking and covid restrictions by then are more laxed.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Balcony

Balcony cabin was great. Our steward kept the room clean and well supplied. And due to the low occupancy, he was very attentive to our needs.

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata)

It was nice....beach area was okay.
