I appreciate that not everyone is comfortable with cruising right now and you have to do what’s right for you. For us, being triple vaccinated and also having both recovered from Covid a month before, we felt we had super immunity passes, lol.
Flight- Toronto to Fort Lauderdale with WestJet Premium (we had flight credit to use). Priority check in was quick. Very attentive inflight service. A nice treat for us.
Pre cruise hotel- Holiday inn express airport/cruiseport. Room had been recently updated and it was clean and modern however the location isn’t great if you want to do any shopping. Mall across the street but it’s a hike to the nearest traffic light. Took an Uber to the port the next morning which was cheaper than the hotel shuttle.
Deluxe inside. Quiet. Beautiful decor. Great shower.
Took the free hotel shuttle to Kikis which is a bar and restaurant at the Crown Plaza hotel down the street. Good drinks and food!
Day pass to British Colonial hotel. Ok but not great. Lounge beds around pool were all soaking wet and unusable. Staff were attentive and hotel lobby was gorgeous but beach was small and route from the port was a bit sketchy.
Visited the Virgin Gorda Baths through a ship excursion (no private excursions or shopping allowed due to Covid restrictions). Hike was a bit challenging but enjoyed going through the caves.
Just did some shopping at the port. We’ve done Maho beach and tours in the past and would recommend doing them to see both the Dutch and French sides to the island.
