We were originally booked for this same cruise in 2021, then COVID happened. We were looking forward to the partial transit of the Panama Canal (we even booked an aft-facing balcony); plus we would celebrate Charlotte's birthday and our wedding anniversary during the cruise. The afternoon before the cruise, we were notified that due to COVID and weather conditions the cruise was shortened from 14 to 10 days and the itinerary changed. Carnival, IMHO, more than compensated us for the changes and inconvenience.

We were disappointed by the last-minute itinerary changes and the shortening of the cruise but after three years of waiting it was great just to cruise Carnival again.

In spite of the circumstances, Cruise Director Leigh Xuereb and the rest of the “Fun Squad” worked tirelessly and succeeded in keeping their guests entertained and informed throughout the cruise. Personally, I missed the Playlist Production shows, but, as Leigh explained, with half of the cast displaying COVID symptoms, their cancellation was totally understandable. The “fly-in” entertainment provided was an acceptable substitute.

Cabin Review

Aft-View Extended Balcony

The standard Carnival cabin complaints apply (i.e., ONE OUTLET). There was one small problem with the latch holding the balcony door closed. It was a bit loose which caused the wind to howl louder than normal. It was easily resolved by placing a folded card in the lock.
