From St. Tropez. So much fun after the season!

My wife, mother (86 years old), and I recently returned from a very after-season Mediterranean cruise, “Ancient Ruins of Greece and Rome” on the Regent Splendor.

I believed that the Regent brand was about higher cost, higher touch, higher quality, which we bought in to. Disappointingly, only the “higher cost” part really stood the test on this cruise. To be sure, part of this was caused by Covid, but a substantial part was poor decision-making on Regent’s part, particularly running a Mediterranean cruise after season.

Ultimately we only got to 3 of the 9 ports on the original agenda and Regent insisted we needed to bypass Italy altogether, even though a Norwegian Caribbean Lines ship, a ship from Regent’s parent company, was on a very similar itinerary to ours.

Concierge Suite

Awesome size. Great bathroom. Well fitted. Could have used the closet to be a tad wider (or us a tad narrower).
