Sail Date: May 2010

Recently sailed on May 23 to the Western Caribbean on the Celebrity Solstice. We live in Hollywood, Florida, just 10 minutes from the port so getting there was a breeze. Check-in was quick and easy, the best so far. Got to the port around 11:45 and was on the ship by 12:15. Went right to the Bistro on Five for lunch, which was much better than fighting the crowds at the buffet.

Cabin: Balcony cabin was a good size with a surprisingly fair amount of storage space. Three of us shared the cabin and there was more than enough room. Good size bathroom and shower doors are a good replacement for the old shower curtains. Our cabin steward Paul was just OK. We used the couch instead of the upper berth for the third person which worked out OK after trying two different mattresses. However keep in mind once they make up the couch into a bed, you cannot use the couch for the rest of your cruise.

Food: Food in the main dining room was fine. Wasn't expecting gourmet cuisine so was not disappointed. Had the first seating and service was good. Also tried Tuscan Grille (disappointing), Murano (excellent) and Silk Harvest (average).

Cabin Review

Nice balcony, plenty of storage, quiet, mid-ship so easy to get fore or aft, depending on which way you're going. Just down the hall from the Card Room which we used as our landmark all week. If we could find the Card Room, we knew we were almost home!
