Sail Date: Jan 2022

We had a wonderful time on our 2 week cruise in the Caribbean. Our Princess ship (Caribbean Princess) sailed at 25-30% passenger capacity and a crew ratio of about 2:1. The extra crew seemed to spend a good deal of time cleaning and sanitizing. Purell dispensers were everywhere. Masks were mandatory in common spaces, except when eating or drinking. The use of cloth masks was discouraged though not prohibited, and N-95 masks were readily available and free. Princess uses a medallion for all ID and purchases. The little device has several ways to be worn and identifies you to the ship (think "where is my wife/husband?), your room (keyless entry), room service anywhere (need a beverage and a snack around the pool? Order on the app and they will find you!), no-touch purchases on the ship.

Other than safety considerations, life on ship was pretty normal. Some things were cut back, but not out, so there was still lots to do -or not. We love cruising and it was great being back at sea after a couple of years. If things go well, we have another cruise booked in March and a river cruise in Europe booked for July. Hopefully things are slowly getting back to somewhat normalcy. Can't wait.
