I am a Platinum plus member of NCL. I guess now I am Saphaire. My sister and I decided to take a cruise once we felt safe that we were vaccinated and we would be able to relax about it.
My sister was very sick before covid hit and we almost lost her. It took almost a year before she felt like herself. She has a very stressful homelife as well. Too much to go into. Anyway, we decided that it would be great if she could run away for a little time off. That is why we chose to cruise. Since we were stuck at home due to covid, she and I were able to save money to take a curise.
However, we did have one problem. When we arrived at the Miami port, we made it through testing and security. We were at the counter checking in to get our room keys. Somehow the gentleman at the port while checking us in, managed to delete my sister from the system. This set off a week long nightmare. We spent more time at the guest services and answering phone calls from them asking where we were, their system did not have us coming back on the ship. We had problems each and everytime we got off the vessel and back on. Always had a line behind us because we had to wait for someone to figure out why the system was not recognizing us. They even held up one of our excursions to give us new keys. We tried to talk to security but were told we couldn't. I can't tell you how stressed out my sister had become. She was afraid that they would not let her back on.

San Juan
The port was fine but we arrived at 4 pm. Not much to do in port that late in the day
St. Thomas
Went shopping during the day and then an afternoon excursion. Unfortunately, the others on the excursion had to wait for us because security thought that our issue was due to bad key chips. They held us up until they could get us two more keys and then took their sweet time getting them to our room which was only 3 mins from their desk.
The others on the excursion were not very happy with us.
Tortola
Tortola is a beautiful island and the shopping is amazing. We arrived at 6 am and left at 1 pm. Not much time for anything. But did return back by 11 am. Was sitting on deck 15 in the lounge when my cell phone rang. It was someone from the ship letting me know that all aboard was at 12:30. I told them that I was aware of that. They then asked how close we were to the ship. OMG!! I told them I was pretty close. I was on deck 15. Again didn't have us getting back on. If I didn't have my cell phone on, they would have retreived our passports and left them with the port authorites. Glad I had it with me and turned on.
Great Stirrup Cay
Just went to9 the beach. The straw market was about 8 huts with merchandise. They all pretty much has the same items in each one of them
