After much deliberation, we decided to take this cruise, having booked it after we received our booster shots but before the latest omicron outbreak. We seriously considered cancelling after reading several articles about the health risks of cruising, along with the real possibility of our stops being cancelled. The CDC warnings, an article in SFGate and one posted on Cruise Critic caused us real concern. We are so glad we went ahead and took the cruise.

The ship was only about 1/3rd full, the staff could not have been more attentive, we were able to stop at all 4 of our ports (Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao and Costa Maya), the staff were consistently wiping and cleaning, the food outstanding. The cruise far exceeded our expectation. All guests and crew had to have their vaccination shots and test negative with 48 hours of sailing.

A few crew members apparently tested positive according to the Captain. They were immediately quarantined with no further incidents. The experience was so great that we seriously considered booking a back-to-back to stay on-board. Read more
