This particular cruise was on my bucket list for a long time. I'm quite particular when it comes to cruising, because I think it can be a little too regimented for my taste, but going through the canal was something best experienced on a cruise ship.

There are certain issues that come up with all travel that are simply not in control of Princess. In this circumstance, we were delayed boarding due to weather the previous day. We were also denied docking at Ocho Rios due to COVID on the ship and then Princess Cays, also due to COVID. Very disappointing, but not a controllable issue. These disappointments could be handled with a free cocktail or something, but there weren't any consolation prizes.

The ports we were able to see, seem to have been horribly impacted by COVID. Turk and Caicos was "closed." Most shops were shuttered, the town was weary. There wasn't any happiness of liveliness to the island.

Cabin Review

Balcony

My cabin was perfectly fine.

Port Reviews

Cartagena (Colombia)

Dirty and so many beggars

Colon (Cristobal)

Two of the three attractions at the observation area were closed. The rest of the bus ride was too long and very boring. The city was very dirty.

Grand Turk

The town was basically running on empty. Most shops closed. Nothing to do.

Loved Costa Rica and will return!

The highlight of the trip.
