Okay, so we all understand this new Covid world we live in and make adjustments accordingly but I think NCL tried to push its luck one to many times with this cruise out of Miami on 12/27. My other Covid era reference was on the NCL Encore out of Seattle on 10/9, which was extremely well done.

So what was different here? For my wife and I we noticed immediately at check in at the Port of Miami a more chaotic process for pre-screening passengers (compared to our Seattle experience). Staffing levels seemed to be way off and this turned into a 3 hour ordeal, just to get pre-screened and onto the ship. The reservation time approach, where you selected a 30 min block to check-in was a joke as it was a free for all at best.

Next up, several of the entertainment acts onboard within hours of boarding where scratched and it was reported that Covid was a factor, so clearly there were some crew/staff infections that were known before we even pulled away from the pier. Read more
