We took this holiday cruise with my elderly parents both of whom were using scooters while onboard. The crew was wonderful and can't say enough good things about our dinning room waiter and his assistant. We were disappointed in the lack of holiday festivities onboard during the cruise as there was 1 deck party during the entire cruise on New Years Eve but nothing on Christmas Eve. My biggest complaint was the lack of handicap accessibility on the ship and in the ports. I understand that the ship can not force the ports to have handicapped transportation to get passengers to the city, but they should make arrangements to at least have something available. Onboard the ship was a bigger problem with handicapped accessibility. The original cabin my parents were assigned to was an Oceanview that required a tight 90 degree turn into the room with very little room to maneuver the scooter and had to have two twin beds. If you tried to configure as a Queen bed then you would literally have crawl into bed from the front of the bed as a desk blocked access to one side and a closet to the other side. Now it was a handicapped room in the sense that it had a bigger door and a roll in shower, but that is it. Kudo's to guest service department for getting them upgraded to a different cabin which did allow easier access to the room and ample storage for the scooters and walkers. There were at least two different "handicapped" bathrooms in the common area, one on lido deck by the food court and one on the 2nd deck by BB Kings that were extremely tight to get either a scooter or wheelchair into. The one on the lido deck again required a tight 90 degree turn and limited space once inside. The one on deck 2 had easier entry but very limited space. Again the crew was magnificent and we were able to get my parents into La Paz and Mazatlán, Guaymas was a huge disappointment! The best entertainment on the ship was the Juke Box Rogue's as we enjoyed all 3 of their shows as well as the finale that included Mona Lisa, Steve and the Step One Dancers. We had a great time and all in all my parents had a great time as well.

Cabin Review

Not sure what category we were in but we were on the Veranda deck with a balcony. My parents were originally on the main deck with a handicapped Ocean View and we upgraded to a handicapped balcony on the Upper Promenade deck. Both balcony cabins were very nice and our stewards wonderful. See above for critique of the Ocean View cabin.
