We booked this cruise pre pandemic and waited 2 years for it. We did not believe it would go ahead until the day before departure as everything was so uncertain. I am so glad we did not move it again as we had a wonderful time. One port was altered due to Germany shutting down but we were very happy with the replacement port of Stavanger, Norway. The other port visited was Zeebrugge where we took a trip to Ypres.

We had expected the ship to look very tired but were pleasantly surprised. It is still in good shape. The atrium, as compared to other ships is small and less impressive. The rest of the ship was up to the standard we hoped for.

Restaurants - we did not try any speciality restaurants. The meals in the main dining room were all very good so we had no complaints. The buffet was a bit disappointing as the choices were limited and there were times I could not find anything for lunch that appealed to me. Service in the main dining room was mostly adequate although on NYE there was a mix up with our allocated table and we were put on a table in a horrible position. We felt the way this was dealt with was lacking. The NYE meal was excellent though and extra portions were able to be requested at all meals.

Brugge (Bruges)

We visited one of the war cemeteries and the town of Ypres. We also visited the WW1 museum in Ypres. All these were worth visiting. It was very moving.
