We are in our late 60's and have been on one Celebrity ship prior to this. We originally booked for the Celebrity Edge 18 months ago, but Edge itinerary was changed a year ago and we had to decide to keep same date, same itinerary, but switch to Silhouette instead of Edge. Was disappointing to us because we were to be Aqua Class and wanted to experience the expanded Spa therapy options on the Edge, versus the limited Persian Garden options on the Silhouette. However, since this was our 30 year anniversary, and pricing seemed decent, we opted to go on the Silhouette.

Average age on the ship was probably in low 60's, which for us was fine. I think we only saw about a dozen children the entire cruise. My main worry was the possibility that Celebrity might require us to wear masks on ship. Thank goodness that was Not the case for us. Once we walked onto the ship, masks came off and stayed off while we were on ship. Unfortunately, for the crew, they were required to wear masks. We felt sorry for them, as we do not believe masks stop viruses (per real science studies). But to our pleasant surprise, the attitudes and service we received from every crew member was outstanding! It was as if you could see their smiles, in spite of their masks covering their faces. We give high marks to Celebrity and to the service-oriented crew members who helped to make our cruise so pleasant. It will be a joy whenever the crew members can join the passengers in going maskless. They deserve to breathe fresh air also!!

Things we liked. Blu restaurant, for Aqua class passengers. It was excellent food and service. We had 5:45 seating and usually were finished by 7:15. Desserts were outstanding everywhere. Free ice cream in the buffet was nice. Pastries in Bocci Cafe were great. Four extra pounds for me, but it was worth it. The shows in theatre were mostly good. 'Our Lady Valentine' male singers were outstanding. Comedian Scott Harris also very good. Theatre rarely very full, which was a product of ship only being about 55% capacity. The live music on ship was excellent. Very professional. The Vivace Strings, man and woman violinists, were excellent. We ate at Petite restaurant, and enjoyed the clever animation show. Food there was excellent also. Fitness center was good, had the right amount of machines to help me burn off some of the calories. The Persian Garden Spa was a little disappointing, in that it didnt have much beyond a steam room and 9 heated loungers. We only went on two excursions. Masks required while getting transported in buses. And some of the islands require masks. It is what it is.

Cabin Review

AquaClass 2

Our cabin was kept constantly clean by our great steward, Stanley. Only slight negative was lack of drawers space for clothing.

Port Reviews

St. Lucia

We enjoyed the catamaran boat ride to the Pitons and back. One free drink, lots of lively music. Masks not required once on boat.

St. Kitts (Port Zante)

We did the railway tour. About a 45 minute bus ride to train with a driver who gave a nice guided tour. Masks required on bus unfortunately. Train ride was nice. Scenic views, one free drink. The native folks on island seem very friendly as many waves to us as we passed by. Hard to hear the narrated tour guide on train because of the noise of train.
