Did the same cruise 3 yrs ago so good to be back. Surprised to find only 900 onboard but understandable. Interior lacked a bit of atmosphere if you didn't go at peak times (after 8.30 show, usually). Felt sorry for some of the artists because of this.

Plus point was no queues for dining rooms, where the food was very good. Service varied - generally good but sometimes slow and forgetful, even with hardly any people in the restaurant. It was their first cruise back, so some bumps to iron out is understandable - like all the outdoor clocks being set to different times at the beginning :D , the safe batteries failing on day two, and the cabin door lock falling apart. Reception staff were friendly and patient!

Cleanliness was excellent throughout, and cabin steward fantastic. Lots of new carpets and furniture in public areas after the refurb. Just wish they'd replaced the sea screen's speakers as the sound quality is truly awful. They really need to talk to other Carnival group lines (Princess) about this, so the knowledge of what equipment to use should be available. Scheduling of films was very strange too - Cruella and Space Jam 4 times in first week, Elf 4 times in two days (with zero kids on the ship). And no effort at all was made to encourage people to watch the late showing. No loungers, blankets, popcorn etc. Nothing. Most loungers were stacked away by then.

Cabin Review

Standard balcony, well looked after by Emmuel.

Would have liked TVs to have been replaced in the refit as the sound quality is poor, but there was plenty of choice of TV and movies.

Position on Lido deck is not what would have chosen but turned out to be great, as it was at the opposite end from the pool/buffet so very few people going past. Downside is that we didn't have to go up a flight or two of stairs to keep the weight off!

Port Reviews

Aruba

Good Segway tour

Barbados

We didn't explore this time as we've been before, but we did have perfume stolen from our luggage after we'd handed it over at night. We've heard from others who've said this happened (Britannia) in Bridgetown.

We know the case was opened because the zip pulls were together in the middle of the zip and we never do that (always put them at top or bottom) and clothes were not touched so hadn't been through a proper search.

Bonaire

Excellent Harley Davidson tour with company a short walk from the port.

Tortola

Went to see The Baths on Virgin Gorda, as seen on Below Deck ;)
