We chose Norwegian for their strict adherence to COVID guidelines: Proof of vaccination required, testing before being allowed on ship, and mandatory masking required in all areas of the ship. The fact that Norwegian is in court fighting our idiot governor, Ron DeSantis, over the mandatory proof of vaccine, etc, just made this decision a no-brainer. We did debate right up until the last minute about going, due to Omicron, but decided to trust the NCL policies and just go. We needed a break from the last two years.
We drove to Tampa from Pensacola (apx 6-7 hours). There is road construction around the terminal, and the signage for which terminal we needed was non-existent. We figured it out by seeing our ship docked at the terminal. We parked in the parking garage ($105) across the street from the terminal. There were no porters or valets in the garage. We could have pulled around in front of the terminal and dropped our bags off, but we did not realize this until after we had already dragged our stuff across the street.
There was a law enforcement officer directing traffic at the crosswalk. She advised us to go drop our bags off, then come back to the building housing the parking garage to get our Rapid COVID test prior to boarding the ship. We left our bags with a NCL porter, then went back across the street to join the line waiting to get tested. We had to show our passports, our vaccination cards, and our registration number for testing. We had both gotten a PCR test three days before boarding to make sure we were negative.
Cabin was smaller than we expected. Only one 110 outlet in the room--bring a compatible power strip. Bed was a queen (two twins zippered together), but comfortably firm for us. Pillows could have been firmer. The bathroom was small, as expected in a small cabin. Options for TV were few, but not much you can do about that.
The cabin was SPOTLESS! The service was excellent. Bring your own shampoo and conditioner in travel sizes. There is 2 in 1 shampoo, but it is awful. The linens were nice and crisp, and the towels were similar to high-end hotel towels. If you want water in your cabin, you can order it from a form in your cabin, or you can bring your own reusable water bottle and go up to the buffet. There is a small minifridge. The items in the minifridge are not free. I would recommend asking your steward to take these items out so you'll have more room in your fridge.
