I find that all 4 Oasis class ships are mostly cookie cutter copies with minor differences. My favorite ships to cruise on. I've been on the Oasis a few times, and love it, except for their Broadway show, Cats. They would do better with something more lively, like Jersey Boys. I cruised the Symphony just the month before, and found the staff there more congenial. The only glitch I had on the Oasis was breakfast in the main dining room (MDR). The 3rd morning out, I ordered an omelette with tomatoes and mushrooms. It came back with no tomotoe or mushroom. I left and discovered the wonderful breakfast at Johnny Rockets. Lots of smiling waiter attention, great music, great decor and atmosphere, and great food. I was hooked. Had to go back on last morning to MDR, and lo and behold, same problem. Got order wrong. I did let the head waiter know the problem after the first incident. But I guess nothing got done.

When I left the ship, I didn't know I had contracted covid. Symptoms appeared the next day. I only live an hour away from the port. Thanks to my booster shot, I only had a cough for 3 days, but tested positive in a rapid and pcr test. Here's what I observed. The ship's protocols for preventing covid are bs. They do not monitor, they do not enforce. I had a negative rapid test 48 hours before boarding and an antibody test showing good. We all know that the booster does not necessarily keep you from getting this bug. But it is geared to keeping you out of the hospital. However, the risk is not worth it, especially if you are over 65 with underlying possibilities.

Back to the ship's policies. Musical entertainment is usually in the club-bars. Since the ship makes its money selling drinks, they deemed that going maskless is ok. WRONG. Soon after I sat in the pub to listen to this wonderful guitarist-singer, I heard a woman behind me constantly clearing her throat and coughing. The waiter that served her didn't bother to report her situation to security to, maybe, get her tested! The main theater allowed you to go maskless in the lower level since you had to show your vaccination wrist band. Again, drinks served. They made announcements imploring you to social distance. Yeah, right, in a full theater.

Cabin Review

Inside view with bay window overlooking Central Park. Highly recommend this cabin as it is large. Just wish the bay window would slide open so I could enjoy the evening concert in the park without leaving my room.
