While we are not new cruisers we have never sailed on Regent Seven Seas. We chose this cruise based on the fact we liked the itinerary and wanted to try this particular cruise before we sail on a much longer cruise in 2022 with Regent. We had read many things about Regent Seven Seas, watched several videos and of course read much on CruiseCritic. Both of us had a difficult time believing all we saw, we thought that a cruise line couldn't deliver on all the promises.

Finally the day came to depart for Miami, we booked our flights ourselves but had arranged with Regent to get us at the airport and take us to the included one night hotel in Miami. My own thoughts were that we would have to search for someone at the airport to lead us to the transport. Regent proved me wrong on that count, in baggage claim there was a person holding a sign for Regent Seven Seas and she led us directly to a few others in the airport who were also taking the transport.

After a quiet night in a very nice hotel in Miami, we boarded a bus to take us to the ship. The only hiccup was at the pier, due to Covid testing, things seemed a bit hectic. The testing protocol was fine, it was waiting for someone to "talk" to you and ask you questions and show your vaccination cards to someone who was hand copying the information at a very slow pace. Our test results were there fairly fast, but it was a good 45 minutes until we were cleared through all the process and could proceed to the terminal. I did talk with others and their experience was much better so I'm not sure what went wrong when we got there.

Cabin Review

Penthouse Suite

Great size, having a separate room for sleeping was good for us as if one of us got up in the middle of the night we could go out in the seating area and not disturb the other sleeping spouse. Great shower with not only a rain forest overhead but 6 side jets that made you feel as if you were surrounded by water! Excellent cabin layout with a huge closet and then there was the veranda. 2 loungers, 2 chairs with a big table, very pleasant

Port Reviews

Great Stirrup Cay

As explained in my review of the cruise, we had a very disappointing time as had rented a cabana and the complete lack of service for the first two hours was not acceptable.

San Juan

Due to some celebration on Puerto Rico, San Juan was very crowded with major traffic and none of the tour operators seemed to know how to deal with it.

St. Kitts (Port Zante)

We took the Scenic Rail ride, had a great time, service on the train was very good and the tour gives you a good idea of the whole island

Antigua

We took the Photographic tour of Antiqua, our only complaint was too much time was spent explaining how to take pictures. I'm not saying I am any expert but I got some great shots on my own!
