My sister and I wanted to celebrate her 60th birthday on a river cruise. We started planning right after COVID broke out, figuring that planning 18 months out would not be a problem. Little did anyone know that COVID would still be an ongoing issue. After pondering cancelling our trip, we are THRILLED we did not! Ama Waterways, the crew (specifically Cruise Manager- Betti Keese, and the Ama Sienna ship did not disappoint. The itinerary ended up being flexible, but we had Christmas markets to our hearts content. The local guides were knowledgeable and friendly. The ship itself was amazing and we found time to sit on our balcony what simply watch the countryside, as we moved down the river. The crew was attentive to all of our needs. A surprise visit from Santa, complete with gifts for all the passengers was a nice bonus. We had Ama coordinate our airlines and transfer, which I would highly recommend. One our flight out, they even have a representative at the airport, who personally walks you to check in for your particular airline. We will certainly plan more trips with Ama Waterways.
