This was the first cruise for Regal sailing from a US port since the shutdown, or as they like to call it “the pause”, 717 passengers and 1100 crew, who could not do enough for you. Due to Regal coming to the US was delayed three days, our original 3 day cruise became a 5 day cruise, with Princess honoring the original fare, cabin category, same OBC, casino Free play. Took them to process the change four weeks and two weeks to confirm our cabin and location, a tad frustrating, but it all worked out.
We normally book a mini suite, more room, bigger bathroom and midship, this time we booked this with Club Class. This fare with Club Class was insanely a lot less then a regular Mini suite.
We dined in Club Class, small section in the Concerto Dining Room. Normally they have 6 servers, 3 waiters, 3 assistant waiters, but this cruise they had just 4 and they were fabulous. Robert, the Matre D, was a great person, and his staff were top notch. Callouts to Michael, Bryan (he wore very cool glassses) another Michael and Alvin. They were great, great sense of humor, great service. The food was great BUT do not order the rib-eye in the dining room, surprisingly it was inedible. If you want good steak especially Rib eye go to the Crown Grill, worth the $29.00. They were so quick to fix it, a few extra huge prawns fixed the problem.
Cabin, great location, just near the Midship panoramic elevators, convenient to everything. Brian was our cabin attendant, met him as we arrived at the cabin, and he was super from minute one.
Stayed on board, not much to choose from in Costa Maya.
Also not much to choose from. Excursion on mainland was cancelled as we did not enough interest to charter the ferry.
