This was my first cruise since the Covid pandemic caused everything to be put on hold. Understandably, there were a few differences on board, which I have taken into consideration for this review.

Embarkation

Very smooth, even though there were no obvious signposts to find the covid testing drive through. The test was fairly quick, with minimal queues. Once through, we headed over to the terminal to drop off the car and begin check in. Test results came through after 30 minutes. We had already printed off all our vaccination certificates, proof of insurance etc which made for a quick and painless check in.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Room large balcony with metal front. Quiet room, though very near the stairs/lifts we didn't hear lots of people going past. We noticed the motion of the ship a lot more in this position near the front - very up and down with the rougher seas!

Port Reviews

Madeira (Funchal)

Highly recommend the cable car and toboggan ride back down - though don't do it through Cunard excursion, it is far cheaper to do it on your own!

Coffee Experience tour - excellent morning out with our guide, and we learned a huge amount about the production of coffee!
