The executive summary: We had a great time on the Explorer and found the crew and ship to be exceptional. While there were things that could have been done better, overall, the entire cruise was excellent.

We were excited to get on board this 24 day cruise after so long off the sea. We are in our 50's and recently retired providing us the ability to take longer journeys. We were first time Regent guests, having enjoyed 20 or so previous cruises mostly on Celebrity and Princess. We chose this cruise to experience a smaller ship and a more inclusive experience. Based on our time aboard, we will definitely return to Regent.

The ship itself is beautiful, impeccably clean, and maintained in perfect condition. Our suite was a Penthouse and it was outstanding. The balcony was huge and furnished with a nice sectional sofa and table and chairs. The bathroom had two large sinks and a great shower. The bed was comfortable and the suite was perfectly maintained during our entire cruise. While we had a butler, we really didn't use his services much, but he was always available when we wanted an early breakfast, casual dinner, or a restaurant reservation.
