We saw this 3 night cruise advertised at a very good price as it was the first cruise the ship was to make after 600+ days of ‘pause’. We realised that there could be problems but in fact they were very few.

We booked cabin 10054. This was a Princess Grill grade cabin. We had previously crossed the Atlantic twice in a PG cabin - although it was 10 years ago.

We were asked to check in at 12.30pm. Because of storm Arwen which had caused widespread problems on the day before embarkation, we were advised that embarkation would be moved from Ocean Terminal to the City Cruise terminal. We left the car at the Ocean Village Car Park and took a taxi to the terminal. We deposited the luggage and we’re ushered into the baggage arrival area of the terminal where we were tested for COVID. Once tested one went to a seating area to await a text with the results. Unfortunately after half an hour ours had not arrived however there were plenty of helpful Cunard ladies who sorted this out for us and we were quickly on board.
