Just returned from a 7-day Caribbean cruise on Carnival Pride, out of Tampa, FL. This was our first cruise since Covid, and it was so nice to be out and about again! In most areas of the ship, masks were required but the majority of passengers wore them wrong (below the nose) or wore them sporadically. Don't count on other people's compliance with mask mandates to keep you from getting Covid; if you're worried or concerned -- stay home!

Pros: The Carnival staff members are still as awesome as ever!! Food was great, as always, but we did notice smaller portions in the diningroom. Nothing to complain about, though; if you go hungry on a cruise, it's your own fault! On our excursions we noticed the locals were very, VERY happy to see us, and took excellent care of us. We always felt safe (Costa Maya, Belize, Roatan, Cozumel). I'm sure these last 18 months have been incredibly hard on them since tourism is a major source of income.

Cons: We've been cruising a long time and it is sad to see the quality and personalized care keep decreasing. We used to get room service each morning and night; our beds were turned down and chocolate mints placed on the pillows, and we got a different towel animal each night -- but no more. Each night a printed copy of the next day's activities was left on our bed; at Guest Services you could get a booklet of shore excursions to peruse and choose your excursions -- but no more. In the formal diningroom your waiter would present you the night's menu in a nice hardcover folder -- but no more. Everything is now on the Carnival Hub app; if you're not phone-savvy, you're out of luck.
