Had been happy with Carnival many times before, but this is the last time for me. Took the same trip in 2012 on another Carnival ship. This one has no place where passengers can see forward: No windowed lounge and the promenade decks were closed. Dining required use of an app. Can't even get a table without it. Almost impossible to get a printed menu. Plastic tables and no table cloths. Had to order even dessert at the start. Shows were poorly done. They added extra and very loud beat to the music so you could not hear the singers words. Self service dining was never good and neveer hot. Did not offer bacon for breakfast, only in the dining room. Ship has the two smallest swimming pool I have ever seen on a ship. Good features: the bike rides above the ship and the water slides. Also plenty of places to sit around the main pool area. Never refilled condiments on the taco bar. Jars looked filthy Cruise director was very annoying and coming on the speakers constantly. Ship decor was drab except for the atrium tower, which is great. Some of the help were snotty. Example: I went to sandwich bar on Lido and asked for a hamburger> "Not here, you have to go outside. What do you have, I asked. "Menu is up above" It was too small for me to read, so I asked for just any sandwich. Another customer suggested a Cubano. This was pretty good. Every feature on the ship is designed to make Carnival money, not to please the passengers. Their management needs to travel on Holland America if they want to get better reviews.
Small, but ok. Good bed. Terrible TV. Almost nothing free. $4 for each very old movie. Our cabin was very noisy at showtimes as it was just below the theater. Tolerable
Easy transportation right from in front of the ship on public bus for $0.50 to downtown. Lots of stores and things to do
Love visiting the Acquario Mazatlan (acquarium). Cost <$8. Includes seal shows, bird shows and penquinns. Fun for the family and a $10 taxi ride from the ship.
