The overall cruise was wonderful but certainly way too expensive. It cost us 20K for 9 people and the overall experience was not worth that much money. We took a Disney Cruise 5 years ago so had previous experience with the ship, the entertainment and the character interactions. I understand the changes for Covid but I do think they went overboard with their precautions and it really impacted the ability to have the Magical Time we had the last time. The character interaction is extremely limited and almost no formal photography available with the characters. The character parade through the enchanted forest restaurant was way too limited and did not even go anywhere near any of the tables. There was no dinner entertainment at all in the Royal Palace dining room. The only good dining entertainment was the animators palette and that was because I specifically requested a table next to an interactive screen. And I was only able to do that because I was a Concierge Guest.

The absolute best part of the cruise were the Concierge Hosts. They were Excellent and provided anything needed and were genuinely concentrated on making sure you had a special time.

The Cabana at Castaway Cay was about twice as expensive as the last time we booked them and had about 1/2 as much provided as before. I did not take any child snacks with me because the last time they had so many snacks available in the cabana basket. This time, they had 4 bags of chips and 2 granola bars for a party of 9 people. Yes, we got refills but again it was just lays chips.

Cabin Review

Concierge 1-Bedroom Suite with Verandah

We were in a one bedroom suite concierge cabin and it was more than spacious. There was an unbelievable jetted tub that could probably fit 2-3 people. However, the lighting in the bathroom was so dim it was impossible to do any shaving, or make up. The mirror was tinted black and the low lighting made it impossible to see anything in the mirror. They had obviously re-done the bathroom and put above the counter basins in. The on/off controls for the sink were behind the sink and hard to reach and the faucet was so close to the back of the sink that you could not even get your hands under it to rinse them. Not a big hardship but really poor design that is unusual for Disney.
