We chose this cruise because it was one the first 14 day cruises available post CDC clearance and because of NCL's policy of 100% vaccinations for passengers and crew. We've had four cancellations in the past two years and were anxious to get back on the water.
Several topics to note: 1. The Covid testing procedures at the terminal were an inconvenience but pretty efficient and well worth the aggravation. Once onboard you knew you were in a 100% vaccination bubble which felt liberating! The CDC restricted the passenger capacity to less than 50% so there were minimal waits for elevators, restaurants, pool chairs etc. We spoke to a couple traveling on a Royal Caribbean ship and they complained about vaccinated passengers being given wrist bands and non-vaccinated passengers being segregated for restaurant times, entertainment venues, etc. After speaking with our group they told us their next cruise will be on NCL.
2. The NCL excursions were held to the same Covid standards as the ship personnel which minimized our exposure to public shopping areas and kept our confidence high.
Clean and functional and consistent with most inside cabins. My wife is a light sleeper and likes total darkness so we opt for an inside cabin. Overall, comfortable.
Good choice of excursions, restaurants, and shopping areas. We chose the Rio Secreto excursion. The ferry picked us up at the same dock as the ship and took us to Play del Carmen where we got on a bus to the Secret River excursion. If you are stable and can handle uneven terrain, this excursion is one of the best!
