Again looking forward to a cruise on an NCL ship I have to say that albeit my wife and I enjoyed this cruise and it was value for money the Norwegian Sun is a tired ship needing refurbishment. Also some crew members, rank and file and supervisors were in need of customer relations training. Sometimes and accepting those crew who were very good indeed many who we discovered were new on board had an attitude of that customers were there for their entertainment.
We cruised from The Port of Dover which travelling to it by car from our home in the Cotswolds was an experience in itself what with the journey mainly being on congested motorways to join the ship for a six cities/towns in six countries cruise of the Baltic with the weather being cold and sometimes very windy but however the experience was not to be missed and was very enjoyable.
Embarkation/Disembarkation at Dover was comfortable, swift with very efficient staff but I know it appears petty but there was no newsagent to get those last items of literature and as we were departing on a Sunday the day most clients would purchase their last UK newspapers etc.
OUR CABIN WAS WITH A BALCONY AND ALBEIT THERE WAS A FEW MINOR MATTERS TO PUT RIGHT SUCH AS SOILED BEACH TOWELS AND DIRTY FINGER MARKS OVER THE MIRRORS AND DOORS THERE WAS LITTLE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT.
THERE WAS ADIQUATE STORAGE WHICH IS SAYING SOMETHING AS MY WIFE TENDST " TO TAKE THE KITCHEN SINK WITH US ON HOLIDAY " ,AS WE SAY IN THE UK.
THE VIEW WAS VERY GOOD INDEED AND THE BALCONY SAFE AND AS I SAY THE CABIN WAS VERY GOOD WITH NO NOISE AS VERY FEW CHILDREN WERE ON BOARD.
