We have taken many cruises over the past 25 years. This Norwegian cruise on the Epic was an epic disappointment and I would consider it the worse for several reasons. First is seemed that everyone was given the free drink package which was great, if you could get one. It was always four deep at the pool bar most of time. Not to mention finding a chair. Second grievance would have to be partly my fault for not looking closely at the itinerary prior to booking. Docked in Curacao at 6am and had to be back on the ship at noon. The shops didn’t even open until 10am. No time to do anything but walk across the bridge. Now here’s where it gets muddy, literally! The excursion in St. Lucia to Sulfur Springs “mud bath” was advertised as rejuvenating. We had to be ready by the crack of dawn and on a bus to the other end of the island. Proceeded to smear mud on ourselves from a five gallon bucket. Then into a small water bath to “try” and get the mud off. There were 2 cold showers for far too many people. The bus ride was not a bad as a tour but long. So long we were late getting back and the ship was waiting on us. Rushed us on all muddy and stinky. We had dinner reservations at one of our specialty choices. We hurried to get an actual shower. It didn’t work. We still stunk. The room now stunk and we got dinner as they were ending the session. It wasn’t good. The only positive note of the trip was the Japanese premium restaurant. I can assure you this will be our last Norwegian cruise.
