Just wanted to "test the waters" after 2020 being so confining. Very easy cruise for us to get to. Just had to drive down to San Pedro. COVID protocols were very good. ALL passengers had to be vaccinated, and ALL passengers had to have a NEGATIVE COVID TEST two days prior to departure. It made it very comfortable for us as well as all the other passengers on board. The ship holds about 3200 guests, and 1200 crew. Our cruise only had about 1400 passengers. It was like having our own private yacht. Our stateroom was a mini suite and we really enjoyed the extra space. Cabin service was only offered once a day, not a problem. Loved the Medallion Class. Very high tech, and really liked how it worked. Masks were required in ALL public areas as well as in the elevators.

Entertainment on board was excellent. Very pleasantly surprised. When going to the buffet, sinks were outside the door to the entrances, and staff would always ask you to wash your hands before entering. Loved that as well. When going through the buffet, no passenger touched the serving pieces. Staff would put the food on a plate that you wanted, and then hand you the plate. Your drinks and silverware were brought to your table by the staff. We observed that as soon as people were done with their meal and left the table, a staff member would immediately clean and wipe down the entire table and chairs. Food quality in the buffet was doable, but far from great. Much of the fresh fruit, was underripe, and the only really sweet fruit was the pineapple. Unfortunately pineapple was not offered on a daily basis. Dinning room food was ok as well. Nothing really too fantastic. We asked for sugar free desserts, and we were very happy that they tasted pretty good. Sugar free desserts were also available in the buffet and speciality restaurants.

We went to three specialty restaurants: Crown Grill; Bistro Sur La Mer; and Harmony. We were very pleased with two of the three. In the Crown Grill I ordered Surf and Turf. The Turf was very good, however the Surf didn't cut it at all. The lobster was not edible. It was rubbery, tough, and gray in color. A couple sitting next to us also ordered the same meal, and her lobster as well was the same. For a speciality restaurant, if they are going to offer Surf and Turf, they had better know how to prepare a lobster tail. The other two speciality restaurants were very, very good. Would definitely recommend Bistro and/or Harmony. If you don't order lobster, Crown Grill would be a good choice as well.

Cabin Review

Mini-Suite with Balcony

Mini suite with plenty of space. Bathroom has a tub with shower. Plenty of elbow room. Two flat screen TV's. Would book this category again.
