Harwich: Check-in was crazy. It took us almost 2 hours standing in line to check-in. We had priority check-in. Then the line to get on the ship was another 30 minutes or so.

The Jewel of the Seas: Good layout for a ship of her size and easy to find things. Two main elevators made getting around easy and not confusing.

Selling Things: I found that this ship was not pushy in trying to sell you things. Whether it be pictures, alcohol, jewelry or package deals. It was very much as you wish.

Grand Suite

Cabin GS

The layout of the room was very well thought out. Absolutely loved how tightly the door to the stateroom shut, with no light under it. Less light = less noise from the hallway. Spacious balcony, fantastic amount of storage space. The new couch in the GS rooms when pulled out to a bed is wonderful. So much better than the "old school" spring matress. The room could use a table with 2 chairs. There is plenty of space for that. Especially when you want to eat in your room.

The only negative I have is with all cruise ships and hotels who insist on putting the beds back to back with the room next door. I was on a cruise ship who had the beds face the balcony and what a difference it made. It was less noisy because the beds were not touching the wall between the two staterooms.
