Like most of us, we’ve waited through numerous cancelled cruises over the past 18 months. So it was great to just be onboard and sailing again.
Ship and protocols - the Carnival Magic was in excellent condition and all crew members were very attentive to sanitation and COVID protocols. There was a crew member at the entrance to every location where masks were required - with a smile and a mask for those who forgot. I’ve heard that other ships have been lax with protocols - that wasn’t the case on the Carnival Magic. Guests were, for the most part, very willing to follow the rules. The new muster process worked well.
Dining - Our dining room staff (Vasile, Memel, and Joker) were exceptional. After the first evening, they anticipated needs before we even asked. We’ve cruised every year or so (historically) and these three were the best we’ve ever experienced. The meals were better than I expected. Not all meals can be lobster and filet mignon- but all meals were tasty and included ample portions. The wait staff provided extra things with a smile.
