We booked this cruise at good price during the shut down because of the itinerary and because the sailing was from the west coast. We have been on 44 cruises mostly with Celebrity but have Platinum status on Princess.
Embarkation was a breeze. We were on board one hour after getting on the Princess transfer from LAX. There was really no waiting to board. We took our Covid test at a CVS in Texas and had our Vaccination cards and a printout of negative test results ready. We were green line on the Princess APP . There were only around 1,800 passengers on board a ship designed to hold 3,500 passengers so our experience my not be typical. We ordered the Princess Medallions in advance and they were delivered by USPS the week prior to the cruise.
We had a mini-suite with balcony (cat MA) on Aloha deck. We liked the cabin, plenty of storage and seating. There was a curtain that divided the cabin into two rooms and we closed it at night for the room darkening effect in the morning. There was a tub in the bathroom and the usual large closet. The balcony was very small, barely room to the walk around the chairs and table to sit down. We would not recommend a standard balcony (or ocean view or inside) on Princess because there is no place for a second passenger to sit in the cabin except on the bed. Our cabin had a full sofa and two TVs. This room A324 was quiet. The room steward was excellent and the room was very clean.
