This is our 8th cruise. First time on MSC and definitely not the last. We've already booked our next one for March. Same itinerary at that. I work at a major healthcare facility in Florida so I used the Healthcare Heroes discount. Just emailed a Pic of my employee badge and they responded rather quickly. We've been on some 7 day cruises; Eastern Caribbean, Western Caribbean, Alaska, New England and felt they were too long so we opted for some shorter ones. Port Canaveral is the perfect port location. Just 2 1/2 hour drive, parking garage is right there, embarkation took 20 minutes and early disembarkation was a breeze. Our cabin was very clean and roomy enough for two. The ship only had about a thousand people on it which was just fine with us. We've been on sold out cruises and been miserable, so crowded you can't even walk around the ship in comfort. We upgraded to the Fantastica balcony and got room service a few times. Our steward was attentive but not too attentive and kept our cabin neat. Hate it when they don't leave us alone. Food was as expected depending on what day and what time of day. They had servers behind plexiglass in the buffet and you just tell them what want. I thought that was great because it saves on waste and you don't eat that much. Staff was very adamant about mask wearing throughout the ship. Ocean Cay was great which is one of the reasons why we are going again. It's not quite finished yet like the Spa and Bimini Beach isn't open yet. But we swam and snorkeled for hours. Didn't see much but it was fun just relaxing on the beach. The one plus is the overnight stay. The other cruise ships have their own islands but they only stay from like 8 to 5. We don't care for the water parks either. The first day at Ocean Cay we went back to the ship, showered, had a bite to eat, went back to the island, walked around, sat on the rocks by the light house, had a drink, watched the sunset. Perfection.
