I am a very experienced cruiser and live very close to Port Canaveral. I hope you find this review of MSC Divina helpful. I didn’t choose this cruise or cruise line, but I’m really glad I joined a group of girlfriends for the short, three-days on Divina. MSC is new to Port Canaveral, so this was my first sailing on this line. Please do not be alarmed by the poor reviews. The three-night cruise out of Port Canaveral was awesome and I totally want to book it again. I’ll do my best to help in this review.
PreCruise: MSC customer support could use some help. There was no response to my request for the status match program, which should match your status on other cruise lines to MSC. The website also didn’t seem to work to register to join MSC’s Voyager’s Club. After several attempts, I was able to get a customer service person to enter me over the phone, by luck! You’ll be asked to check in for the cruise online. Don’t bother trying to register your credit card on their website for a short cruise... it doesn’t work! I was pulling out my hair. The website doesn’t explain you need to register your credit card onboard the boat. We found out by accident. Apparently its written in all the fine print, but I didn’t bother reading all that. If you don’t link your credit card onboard the boat, you run the risk of getting your account all messed up. You can’t prepay for a drink package on 3 & 4 night cruises on MSC, but you can prebook excursions.
Embarkation/Disembarking: Another review I read explained not to freak out if you receive an email and/or text two days before the cruise asking to change your arrival time. That reviewer was correct, do not freak out if this happens! We were able to arrive at the earlier time provided and had no problems getting onboard. Embarkation was very similar to preCOVID embarkation, except they had to see COVID test results in addition to passports and such. Don’t rely on this information, but they appeared to be giving COVID tests upon Embarkation, perhaps for folks who didn’t come armed with a negative test. But, I don’t know this for sure... it’s just what I seemed to observe. Getting off the boat was super quick and easy... the best and quickest experience of any cruise I’ve ever taken. Again, I’m sure the limited capacity helps a lot.
