This ship needs to be refurbished, there is black mold all over the place especially under the staircase that is on the LIDO deck closest to the Toppings Bar for GUYS Hamburgers, the service was really poor, I asked for a tray one night because hubby did not want to go eat, so I picked up some pizzas, wanted to take desert and a drink back to the cabin, so I asked for a tray and was told, they are not allowed to give any passengers a tray, what did they think I was going to take it home? I had to make 2 trips with a knee replacement and another bone on bone knee. The crew just did not feel they needed to go above and beyond to accommodate the passengers. They looked like they were all angry all the time. Also, early one morning I was up around 4am and wanted to have a cigarette my cabin was on Deck 10 forward I walked out to the open area deck 10 and I was told to turn around, go down one flight of stairs (or elevator)walk to the end of the ship then take the elevator (or stairs) to Deck and then get to the smoking section. Well I did what I was told but when I arrived to the rear of the ship they were power washing the side that I needed to pass to get to the smoking section. and they would not let me pass, they told me to go around the far rear of the ship. At this point I was really annoyed, and really needed that cigarette. I was beside myself that they would make me go around when all they needed to do was turn the power machine in another direction while I passed or shut it off for a second.
I have cruised with Carnival many time (Gold right now) going for Platinum, but this cruise was the worst I have ever been on, the entertainment also "sucked" the cruise Director TJ has a very monotone voice and he was not entertaining at all. They never played Calypso music on the LIDO deck. I never went to the main dining, there was nothing on the menu that was appetizing to me and I have always gone to the main dining on my previous cruise. Overall this cruise I can compare to the Paradise another older ship that needs to be revamped from the ship to the crew. Rethinking if I need to change my cruise company all together.
The only good this was my cabin steward that I tipped more than what I should of because he was really good, pleasant and very accommodating. His name is Ketut, he is really good and I hope that this gets to him and he gets compensated someway. Thank you Ketut for all the cute towel decorations and for being so pleasant.
the cabin was well taken care of every day, water pressure for baths was very good, easy to regulate the water, the sink was clogged up a little bit but it eventually went down, the tv in the room was more entertaining than anything else on the ship.
