Chose the cruise for a break as a UK-based holiday that would be relatively reliable and not subject to travel restrictions. In fact, the ship, the main dining room, the crew especially, the ports of call and the entertaintment all exceeded expectations.

We had cruised with Royal Caribbean on Freedom class ships before and enjoyed them, but the Anthem was a step up. I am not sure it had a 'wow' factor but it was very good and the public spaces and bars were excellent. The ship had 1900 passengers on our cruise, so well below capacity and if full then I suspect it would feel a lot less spacious and calm.

Highlights for us were the food, especially in the main dining room, which we felt were better than we have had on Royal Caribbean before (and it was never bad)- we did not have a meal we did not enjoy and were catared for well as non meat eaters (ask for the Vegan menu for addtional choices).

Cabin Review

Ocean View Balcony

Long and thin cabin but pleasant enough. The bed was very comfortable and we thought the storage space was pretty good.

Port Reviews

Belfast

Our two first chice tours were both canclled and we ended up taking a city hightlights coach tour which was fantastic. The guide John was excellent and we saw and learnt a lot. Highly recommended tour option
