We had misgivings about this trip because of all the covid hoops and hurdles, but we did have an underlying thought. Uniworld would take care of us. And they did! This was our 7th cruise with Uniworld and it did not disappoint. We chose the Jordan pre cruise option and were glad we did. We arrived in Amman, were greeted by the Uniworld rep at the airport. He got us into a taxi and the driver could not have been more welcoming. He helped us with some basic Arabic words. Definitely a good beginning to our trip. We were met at the hotel by another Uniworld rep. He gave us his number in case we had any questions or concerns. That night we received a phone call from our guide for the trip, Sufian. This is the reason we keep coming back to Uniworld and will not consider any other company for river cruises-the quality of the people who represent them. Sufian was truly a joy to have as our guide for the next 5 days on an incredible journey through Jordan, from Jerash to the Dead Sea to Wadi Rum to amazing Petra to Mount Nebo. He introduced us to his country, the food, the people. He was so accommodating and attentive to all our needs. We loved our time in Jordan and with Sufian.

Then on to Egypt. And guess what. Another amazing guide awaited us, the Egyptologist named Hazem. He brought Egypt to life and crammed 4,000 years of history into 11 days. This was the maiden voyage of the Sphinx and yes, it was just like any other Uniworld cruise-Marvelous! It is always the people that represent the company that make the experience and we were coddled and fed with wonderful food. All employees were attentive and appreciative that they had a job. We have never been on a bad tour with Uniworld because they select the best local people. Of course, we just had one local, Hazem and he was all we required. He had an answer to all our questions and he truly brought the wonderful history of Egypt to life. He was always there for everyone in his group to answer a question or concern. Truly a gem within the gem of Egypt. I could go through the itinerary, but truthfully, every day was a masterpiece. We loved our time in Egypt with Hazem. All the employees on the ship were Egyptian and they were all truly delightful. They bent over backwards to make our experience unforgettable and they accomplished their goal.
