The Uniworld 11 Night Splendors of Egypt & the Nile is a combination land tour and river cruise. We were on the second sailing of the SS Sphinx in early October 2021 and absolutely loved every minute on the ship. The ship is beautiful, spacious and brand new. The common areas are all beautiful with wood carvings, intricate tile designs and bright fabrics and these areas easily accommodated all passengers. The upper sun deck has a large pool and comfortable loungers as well as tables with adequate overhead shades.

The ship is beautiful but what made the experience so wonderful was the fabulous crew. Every crew member was friendly and willing to do anything for you. Our cabin stewards kept the cabin spotless and left a little treat for us every day. Sameh Elsayed is the Cruise director/hotel manager and he went out of his way to be sure that every detail was attended to and everyone's needs and requests were accommodated.

Amr in the bar was open and friendly and created special drinks for us. He was willing to answer our questions about life in Egypt and we spent several hours in animated discussions with him.

Cabin Review

Grand Suite

The suite had ample room for 2 with spacious closets, ample hanging room and a great design. The bathroom and closets were located just inside the room with the bedroom behind so turning on the bathroom light did not disturb anyone in bed. The bathroom was very large with a separate shower and good vanity space. There was excellent water pressure and wonderful toiletries supplied. There was a comfortable sitting area, a coffee/tea station, refrigerator with soft drinks and large bedside tables. Overall, a comfortable, well designed large room with two large French balconies.
