Sail Date: Sep 2021

We have cruised with Princess many times, this would be our first time on Regal Princess, or any other ship this size. Because of Covid the ship was only half full and adults only. It was seven nights in duration, and calling at Liverpool, Belfast and Greenock (for Glasgow).

Embarkation/Disembarkation

We had already completed all the documentation requirements on the Medallion App, and achieved Green Lane check-in status, it wasn’t easy! On arrival at the Ocean Terminal we were directed to the baggage reclaim hall for a Covid lateral flow test. They check your identity and take your mobile phone number, you get the result by text message. It was quite light hearted, particularly when four mature ladies were invited, “this way ladies for your pregnancy test!” We then returned to check-in, where we had to wait 30mins for the test result to come through. When it did, negative I’m glad to say, we were directed to the check-in counter. There they checked our passports and issued us with our named medallions. Then it was just through security and onto the ship, from getting out of the taxi to getting into the cabin took about 45mins. Interestingly, at no stage were we asked for details of our travel insurance.
