It was exciting news when NCL announced a return to New York with weekly trips to Bermuda. They mentioned limited capacity, COVID vaccinated crews and passengers, and COVID testing prior to boarding. I was confident of their safe approach regarding COVID, and I could not be more impressed with the process and my cruise experience. The process of booking the cabin the NCL site was business as usual - Cabin selection, tour and onboard dining experiences. All the same as before. Now, within the times of COVID, NCL communicated via email, and personal phone call (no robo calls), explaining the COVID protocols and requirement necessary to board and enter Bermuda. Everything was clearly explained in step-by-step manner. Even the required Bermuda Health advisory site and testing requirements were explained in separate communication. All in understandable easy to follow instructions. PERFECT.

Upon arrival at the NY Manhattan Cruise terminal, it all worked as explained. All pier staff were friendly and knowledgeable of the process. They answered any questions and kept the process moving. 2 COVID tests were administered on the pier. Upon completion of the pre-boarding testing we were given a red wristlet to wear and directed to the ship check-in. It was a smooth process. All in - we arrived at the terminal at 9:45 and were on the ship by 11:30.

Things that we immediately noticed - all NCL team on the ship were wearing face masks. No exceptions. Passengers did not need to wear masks at all. I did for a bit and removed it once I felt more comfortable. Some did wear masks indoors in confined areas (hallways etc). Read more
