We have had 7 cruises cancelled and frankly I thought this one would be also. I booked this cruise as I was excited about going to Bimini; what a letdown. They need to develop their tourism as there isn't anything to see or do there except go to the beach. It looked like a flat "ribbon of land" island that was mostly residential and the houses looked nice and new. We walked down to the Hilton Resorts World Bimini and it was bustling with tourists. We walked around Fishermen's Wharf which had an odd women's store consisting of one 30' rack of clothes. Many of the shops were vacated and needed renovating. The map mentioned a casino in the area but we didn't see it. Amber cove in the Dominican Republic was beautiful; all new construction built on the slopes of volcanic-formed mountains. It was raining so we admired the view while on deck.

COVID helped the Muster Drill. We showed up at our leisure to our Muster Station in the dining room. They scanned our Sail and Sign cards and showed us how to put on our life vests and that was it. Buffets are still serve yourself. I saw a lot of Purell stations. I noticed they no longer served lemon slices next to the iced tea probably to eliminate people touching them. If you were walking around, you had to wear a mask although there were no mask-police forcing the issue.

Disembarkation was the best I've ever seen. I guess the ship was at about 85% capacity so it may be different at 100%. Our instructions for carrying off our own luggage were to meet at our Muster Station at 7:15. We were on the way there at 7:10 when an employee told us that if we had all of our luggage, we could get off the ship then. With the use of facial recognition, passports were not even needed during the exit process and we were driving out of the parking lot at 7:25.

Cabin Review

I don't remember what my Cabin Category was, but it was an inside, aft, and really quiet. My review above tells more about the cabin. It was nice to sleep late as there is NO LIGHT except for a tiny crack around the door of artificial light, and we would sleep until 10:00 and still think it was the middle of the night.

Port Reviews

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata)

I'm giving this a 5 even though we didn't get off the ship as it was threatening rain. It was breath-takingly beautiful!
