We chose this cruise primarily because of the free car parking and onboard spend offer, plus having the opportunity to go ashore independently in Portland, Belfast and Liverpool.
The service onboard in the restaurants and bars was excellent, with a very friendly and welcoming crew. We had a lovely room stewardess who took great care of us. It is a beautiful ship and with only 1250 guests onboard felt very spacious. Dine My Way worked this time and, as requested, we had the same table each evening with a waiter and junior waiter that we got to know; our preferred dining option. The Medallion is an excellent replacement for the cruise card and worked perfectly unlike the Medallion App!
The reason we cannot give top rating is because of the pre-cruise experience. Having booked the cruise, the Medallion App refused to recognise us for four days and it was impossible to get any assistance from Princess as to why! In addition, it took four attempts to order the Medallion; the first three attempts caused my iPad to crash! We successfully had the ‘Green Lane’ all set up until 30 minutes before we left home when it became ‘Blue Lane’. On investigation it was because the App said we had not registered the credit card for Medallion Pay; we had done so otherwise we would not have been ‘Green Lane’ in the first place! We then resubmitted our credit card details and were ‘Green Lane’ again, Onboard we received a letter requesting a visit to the Purser’s Desk to register our credit card!!! On informing the person I spoke to that I had registered my credit card, the response was, ‘The information has not reached the ship’!! Princess Cruises really do need to sort out the issues with this App!
