Just returned from an American Cruise Line trip on board their ship Constitution. The Hudson River cruise was round trip starting in Manhattan, NY to Albany, NY and return. This was my 5th cruise with ACL. The Constitution is one of ACL's newer vessels built in 2018. It's a beauty! The accommodations were top notch. The public spaces were bright and cheery. On board activities were plentiful and included Performers each night, Lecturers, games and contests, and an Artist in Residence teaching watercolor painting. Happy hour each day included cocktails, wine and beer, all top shelf, and a great selection of hors d'oeuvres. But for me the highlight of the week was leaving and returning to Manhattan. As we got underway the Manhattan skyline was just spectacular. As we cruised up the Hudson the scenery was also very impressive and included West Point, Kingston, Albany, Troy, NY (the eastern end of the Erie Canal) . Shore excursions were available at many stops and tour buses with guides lead the way. We returned to Manhattan at night and the skyline was completely awesome. Lit up like Christmas. The captain was able to dwell at the Statue of Liberty allowing us to take pictures of the statue fully lighted. Wow! I highly recommend this cruise and the American Cruise Line for any oftheir cruises.
