After 20 months it was great to be cruising again. Virtuosa is a beautiful brand new ship. Food was excellent, even though we only ate in a specialty restaurant once. MSC is really up to par with the best when it comes to food. Staff on the ship was great, really everybody very helpful and doing their best. Entertainment was good but a bit the same, every day, always great costumes and great singing, but thats it. Have not seen a drummer or a bass player during the whole 10 day cruise, never a real band. No magicians, no comedians, no acrobats. Several shows were repeated even though it was just a 10 day cruise, I have never experienced that before. There was supposed to be a Cirque du Soleil show on board but that was not available during our trip. No explanation why not. The cabin was great albeit closet space is tight for a ten day trip but as we brought a bunch of magnetic hooks and thus could use the walls for extra storage we were ok. Planning seems to be a problem for MSC on this new size of ship, one day there were 3.000 passengers on board and only 1.300 excusions available, so 1.700 passengers could not leave ship as because of covid going to shore was only allowed with an excursion. We managed to fight our way to excursiontickets waving our gold card and demanding a meeting with the shore excursions manager but still feel bad for all the others. Same planning problems lead to big lines for the breakfast buffet, until halfway the main pool. Seated lunch was one day so overcrowded that MSC started violating its own corona-protocols and seated people from different families at the same table. I wonder how MSC will do when Virtuosa is fully booked... We did have a very nice cruise with very nice port calls, but we do feel MSC could do a lot better…

Cabin Review

Very good though little wardrobe space, we bought magnetic hooks so we were fine but otherwise for a two weeks cruise seems small. Can´t imagine how it would ever work out with 4 people in one cabin.
