The service was brilliant, entertainment was good, ship was okay, but the destinations were subpar.

This was my 7th cruise on Carnival. Although the Carnival Magic was not a bad ship, the layout was strange compared to all the others I've been on and not to my liking; most of the hot tubs were cold, the ones on the Serenity deck were always full and this was on a cruise only 70% full. The main pool was small and seemed out of place.

On a positive note, it had lots for kids to do and also had a separate casino for non-smokers.

The buffets were good and varied, with something for everyone. I wish I would have tried the Mongolian place earlier in the cruise as that was one of my favorites. However the dining room experience was disappointing, the food wasn't anything spectacular and the service was subpar.

Cabin Review

Aft-View Extended Balcony

The stewards were awesome and very attentive to detail. The cabins would be better if they had USB ports and additional power receptacles.

Port Reviews

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata)

There really isn't much here. Food is expensive and limited.
