My wife and I were on board Sky Princess for 6 nights in September. The last time we cruised with Princess was in 2013 on Emerald Princess, we were supposed to be on Ruby Princess in 2020 but the Pandemic cancelled our cruise, therefore we were really looking forward to this Seacations Cruise. We were not disappointed as the organisation by Princess particularly in terms of Covid Protocols was excellent. Everything from start to finish was generally first class.

Our Balcony Cabin (BB) was very acceptable however we found the bathroom to be on the small size compared with previous Princess Ships encountered. Furthermore in this day and age why are there still plastic curtains in the shower rather than a glass partition?

All of the restaurants were very nice but in our opinion there were a few which we found to be below Princess Standards. Sabatini’s Trattoria was a huge disappointment. We found the menu selection very unusual and limited choice. For $ 25 up charge per person we expected better. It was very much a case of style over substance. As an example the complimentary dish from the chef was very odd Antipasti type dishes with tomato & pepper dipping – the ham was of a very poor quality, very fatty and chewy. My wife’s starter was Crispy Calamari very poor and chewy, my main course which was recommended by the waiter Pork Tenderloin very tough and undercooked this was very disappointing for us since the last time we were on Coral Princess the Traditional Sabatini’s Restaurant was fabulous with simple, excellent quality food well cooked, with an elegant feel restaurant. On the other hand Crown Grill was excellent as usual. The included restaurants were of good quality, good menus with service to match. We found The World Market Place (Buffet) hit and miss. Breakfast & Lunch were excellent but a big negative was the Dinner Buffet, we visited twice BBQ Grill & Asian Theme and both cases it was certainly quantity over quality. The way the counter service served the portions certainly needs to be looked at. It resembled a work’s canteen with everything piled on the plate – less appetizing!
