I love Alaska and have enjoyed Celebrity on a previous cruise. The ship was only booked to about one third capacity. The weather was cool and wet. Probably normal for this time of year. The ship’s staff was wonderful. I was able to upgrade my ocean view cabin to a balcony cabin as soon as I got onboard for $100. Some excursions were cancelled due to low participation. Not sure if all passengers were vaccinated or not but everyone had to have a negative Covid test. I wish the line had conducted daily temperature checks like I had on a recent MSC cruise. Masks weren’t required on the ship. The ship was in excellent condition and the food and service were excellent as well. Entertainment is pretty low key on this ship. One thing everyone seemed to like was the “Silent Disco.” Sounds weird but it is quite fun. The meal and service in the specialty restaurant Tuscan Grille were excellent. Actually service can be TOO good. Servers tended to hover around a lot, checking often to make sure you’re enjoying everything. The room service people phone you after your meal is delivered to make sure everything is/was okay. It’s a nice touch but it begins to interfere with your experience at times. That is the only complaint I have.
