Long time cruisers, went for experiencing mini suite, club class, plus package of all inclusive drinks, WiFi at cheap as chips price. Not fussed about a cruise to nowhere, just wanted to experience it again albeit expecting a few changes and restrictions due to COVID.

A few learning points. Forget your booked embarkation slot- rack up as soon as drive through COVID test centre opens( 11am?). Otherwise make our mistake and you’ll spend 3 hours in a crawling car queue. Once through test centre, you then crawl slowly to terminal drop off- coincidentally long enough to receive your test outcome by text. Subtle. Oh, and forget priority embarkation- doesn’t exist.

They are apparently increasing passenger numbers per each subsequent cruise. But still reduced number of sun beds and internal seating in order to have some degree of distancing. If you want a sun bed, you’ll need to be up by 7.30am to reserve one. If you want a seat post theatre show emptying, good luck with that.

Cabin Review

Extra room makes a difference. Double bed is massive, super comfortable. Large comfy sitting area. 2 large flat screens with in-house info plus movies and TV options. Larger bathroom with fair sized bath and shower. We usually have a balcony room but noticeable and welcome extra space in mini suite.

Room clean, tidy and in excellent, modern condition.

Being in club class, nice touches of complimentary Prosecco chilling in the fridge on arrival and also half bottles of red and white wine. Plus evening canapés. Can order room service, food and drinks, via Medallion App.

Power sockets are USA and European. A USA to UK adapter was provided though recommend you bring an extra USA or European to UK adapter.

Cabin steward undertakes morning clean- knows when you are out the room via Medallion device. Will only undertake evening visit if you request it.

Definitely recommend.

Port Reviews

Southampton

Post COVID. Horrendous embarkation changes due to need for drive through testing. 3 hours in a massive crawling car queue not the ideal start to a relaxing holiday. Then a further crawl to terminal drop off- coincidentally taking long enough for you to receive your test outcome by text before entering the terminal. Or not as the case may be with many passengers apparently not receiving their text outcome and thus having to be checked once they have dropped off luggage and car and entered terminal with other passengers- go figure. Totally pointless being given an embarkation time slot.
