This cruise ship, Independence of the American Cruise Lines was the worst ship I have ever been on and I have been on quite a few cruises. Our room was very dirty; huge stains on the carpet; furniture that you would not even attempt to sit in; bathroom was also very dirty. Housekeeping was minimal at best.
The ship broke down, one generator totally died and the other one was getting close to dying. We found out from the engineers repairing the generator that the good parts from the dead generator were used to fix the almost dead generator. We had to miss a port and returned a day early to the original port. I realize that ships are in constant need of attention but when we fount out that this particular ship had been having this trouble for a while...every time the ship was in port the generators were being worked on... it makes you wonder if the Cruise lines was looking out for the passengers safety!
The main staff, Hotel General Manager; Cruise Director; Chef & Medic were wonderful....but that's about it. We were denied lunch by the Dining Room Manager because we were 6 minutes late. The rest of the dining room staff did not go out of their way to be friendly.
The size of the room and the electrical outlets was wonderful! The END
